Daily fantasy baseball: Johnny Cueto will rebound against Twins

Here are three pitchers to stream this week in your daily fantasy league:

Reds’ Johnny Cueto vs. Minnesota Twins

Even though Johnny Cueto has been shaky in his past three starts, his problems lie with an affinity for the longball as he allowed a dinger in each of those three games.  He hosts the the Twins who rank 25th in the majors in homeruns and sit near the bottom of the pack against right-handed pitching featuring a small .297 wOBA.  Look for Cueto to get back on track and take advantage of a beneficial matchup on Wednesday.

Angels’ Garrett Richards at Texas Rangers

The catalyst for Richards’s sudden success in 2014 was his ability to limit his walk rate dramatically as the season developed.  In his final 10 starts, he had an elite walk rate of 4.9 percent, a stark difference to his 9.1 percent rate across the entire 2014 campaign.  Richards has struggled to find his command after recovering from knee surgery, but he has lowered his free passes in each of his last three starts, including only one batter in his Win against Seattle.  The trend can continue this week as he faces an inconsistent Rangers offense, leaving you with a great value pick in Richards.

Athletics’ Sonny Gray vs. Seattle Mariners

You may be cautious to trust Gray at the moment after allowing eight ER across his last two outings.  However, the AL’s ERA leader is matched up with the Seattle Mariners this week, a team Sonny has faced twice this season and dominated both times – only 2 ER and 13 Ks across 14 IP.  He may be featured at a discount, creating a solid choice to man your staff.
